4-Day Da Nang Trip with My Mother ✈️ From Hoi An’s Charm to Ba Na Hills – Perfect Itinerary Revealed!

Hello everyone :)
I recently returned from a 4-day healing trip to Da Nang, Vietnam with my mother.
It was our first time traveling abroad together, and although I had a few worries at first, the charming streets of Hoi An, the vibrant energy of Da Nang, and the delicious Vietnamese cuisine made it an incredibly special and satisfying experience.

For those planning a family trip, especially with your parents, I’m sharing:

✔️ Our actual itinerary with real-time routes
✔️ Recommended restaurants, cafés, and attractions we visited
✔️ Transportation tips including how to use Grab in Vietnam

Let’s dive in!

✅ Day 1: Falling in Love with the Charm of Hoi An

📍 Arrival at Da Nang Airport → Transfer to Hoi An (Approx. 45 min by Grab)

  • Transport tip: Grab is a must. Install the app before your trip and connect a card for easy payments.

  • Hotel: Anio Boutique Hotel Hoian – Clean, friendly staff, and very close to the Hoi An Old Town. Highly recommended!

🍜 Lunch: Phở Thìn Hội An

A rich and flavorful bowl of Vietnamese pho. Even my mom was impressed by the deep broth!

🏮 Strolling Through Hoi An Old Town

We wandered through lantern-lit alleys and centuries-old buildings. Great for taking beautiful photos and picking up small souvenirs.

🥖 Snack: Bánh Mì Phượng

A must-try banh mi spot loved by both locals and tourists. Expect a line—but it's worth it!

🍽️ Dinner: La Plage Restaurant

This was the highlight of our day. Located right by the beach, we enjoyed a peaceful dinner while watching the sunset. A truly magical moment with my mom.

✅ Day 2: Healing and Food Tour Around Da Nang

📍 Hoi An → Transfer to Da Nang (Approx. 45 min by Grab)

  • Hotel: TMS Hotel Da Nang Beach
Located right by the beach with stunning sea views. Highly recommended!

🙏 Chùa Linh Ứng (Linh Ung Pagoda)

This famous temple features a giant Lady Buddha statue. We prayed for peace and health together.

💆‍♀️ ARI SPA Massage

Relieved our travel fatigue with a professional and rejuvenating massage.

🍽️ Lunch: Nhà hàng Làn Gió (Lan Gio Restaurant)

Local Vietnamese cuisine that wasn’t too spicy—perfect for older travelers.

☕ Café Time: Bread & Butter Bakery

A relaxing café with delicious garlic baguettes. Don’t miss them!

🥩 Dinner: Babylon Steak Garden

Excellent steak and a cozy atmosphere. Great for a quiet family dinner.

✅ Day 3: A Fairytale Day at Ba Na Hills

📍 Transfer to Ba Na Hills (Approx. 1 hour by Grab)

🌉 Golden Bridge & Fantasy Park

The iconic Golden Bridge was even more breathtaking in person.
We also enjoyed some downtime at Fantasy Park where the air-conditioning was a nice break from the heat.

🍕 Dinner: Pizza 4P’s

A high-end pizza experience in Vietnam! My mom loved the gorgonzola pizza in particular.

🌃 Night View: Sky36 Rooftop Bar

A fantastic view of Da Nang’s night skyline. We sipped cocktails while enjoying the cool breeze and vibrant lights.

✅ Day 4: Shopping & Departure

🛍️ Shopping Route: Han Market → Vincom Plaza → Lotte Mart

We bought dried fruits, Vietnamese coffee, pho kits, and more!
Tip: Lotte Mart is spacious, organized, and familiar to Korean travelers—great for last-minute shopping.

🍽️ Dinner: Tiem An MiuMiu & Tiệm Ăn Tiến Kim

Finished the trip with light local meals before heading to the airport for our night flight back to Korea.

🔍 Travel Tips for Visiting Da Nang with Parents

  1. Grab is essential. Install the app and link your payment method beforehand.

  2. Choose your accommodation based on your itinerary. Hoi An for the first night, Da Nang for the rest.

  3. The weather can be hot! Don’t forget hats, sunscreen, and light clothes.

  4. Plan a relaxed itinerary. Especially with elderly parents, less is more.

📌 Final Thoughts

This was our first overseas trip together, and Da Nang proved to be a wonderful destination for a parent-child getaway.
With its blend of nature, food, and peaceful vibes, it’s perfect for creating unforgettable memories.

If you’re planning a similar trip, feel free to follow our itinerary!
Wishing you a beautiful and healing journey with your loved ones 😊
